Yashica Electro 35

Yashica Electro 35, given by Victor Libon from Charleroi, delivered july 15th, 2010.

Yashica Electro 35My friend Victor has decided to give up film photography, and sent me his cameras for my collection.
From what I read (link), Yashica Electros have been produced in various versions since 1966, the latest version in 1975. This is a model GT came produced from 1970.
The Yashica Electros are automatic, aperture priority, aiming through a rangefinder with parallax correction, lens with central shutter.
The camera was powered by a PX 32 battery (5.6 or 6v, 17mm diameter, length 45) which no longer exists. It is relatively easy to replace it with a PX 28 in a tube, with a metallic "extension".
The "square" construction, strong appearance, evokes a Leica M.
