My friend Victor has decided to give up film photography, and sent me his cameras for my collection. From what I read (link), Yashica Electros have been produced in various versions since 1966, the latest version in 1975. This is a model GT came produced from 1970.The Yashica Electros are automatic, aperture priority, aiming through a rangefinder with parallax correction, lens with central shutter. The camera was powered by a PX 32 battery (5.6 or 6v, 17mm diameter, length 45) which no longer exists. It is relatively easy to replace it with a PX 28 in a tube, with a metallic "extension".The "square" construction, strong appearance, evokes a Leica M.
