The standard lenses of Kiev (Contax) have the characteristic of not being provided with a focusing system, the helicoid is included in the body, the focus can be adjusted using a toothed wheel, also coupled to the rangefinder. The mount is a bayonet, there is another bayonet, external, for the other focal lengths, which have their own focusing helicoid.
Peculiarity: the diaphragm controls are notched on the lenses for Kiev, never on the lenses for Zorki.
On the first Kiev were mounted lenses from Carl Zeiss, then lenses provided by KMZ (some labeled "Zorki"). Arsenal have made their own Jupiter-8 from 1955.
The diaphragm ring is not notched.
Modified optical formula? the body has a slightly different form and the diaphragm ring is notched.
At left the Jupiter-8, At right the 8M
The Helios 103 appeared around 1980 to succeed to Jupiter.
