KRISTALL

Back Language

Kristall, Industar-50 3.5/50mm, provided by Alexey. Received on July 31st, 2009.

This is the first KMZ 135 SLR with hinged back. The shell is very similar to that of the future Zenit E. Compared with the Zenit 3, the cocking mechanism has been completely redesigned, the release button is at the center of the lever (this mechanism is the one of Zorki 5). The mirror gets down thanks to a set of levers (see Zenit 3M page).

Kristall

Kristall dessusThe top cover is in cast aluminum, extremely lightweight. The synchronization selector has only 2 positions left, electronic flash and magnesium.

Miroir KristallThe mirror of this Kristall is rectangular, it is quite possible that there are Kristall with trapezoid mirror (see Zenit 3 page).

Obtu KristallAt the delivery of this camera, the shutter was not working (you can see that the base plate is bent, the speed selection mechanism didn't fell at the correct height) I spent hours before I could get acceptable operation.
