A 35mm is an essential lens, and this one made a lot of images. The base of mounting presents a small design groove, unfortunately the mounting of Spotmatic also has a recess at this place, result: the lens screws 1/2 turn too far. The aluminum ring was turned for me by a colleague of the photofinishing factory where I had my training course at the end of 1st year of school of photography.

Mir 1B 2.8/37mm bought on eBay on june 16th, 2007 for 37$ + 15$ (shared) sending fees.

In fact, we should say Mir-1V (Cyrillic "B" is the "V" of the Latin alphabet), this V means quite simply that the production was transferred to VOMZ (source: http://www.zenitcamera.com/archive/lenses/mir-1.html).
This lens has the (rare) characteristic to wear no manufacturer logo, but other Mir-1V seen on Internet carry 1st VOMZ Logo, this logo is also present on the cap of this lens.
I initially bought it by curiosity, to see the difference with the old model; result: Black painting is replaced by a black coating of the metal, more resistant, the "Grand prix Brussels 1958" engraving is no more there, and the small design groove on the basis has been removed,no longer need of my aluminum ring for using it on Spotmatic!
Besides, identical, even lens coating has the same color.
Other Mir-1B I've seen on Internet have a different, "modern", look.
