Pentax MX
Pentax MX, given by Gilles Collas. Received in January 2018.
For the series M which succeeded the series K, I had to present only the MV, not the most representative of the range. Thanks to a collector who offers me some devices he does not use, the hole is filled. Thank you Gilles!
Initially, this camera seemed out of order: release button and self-timer lever completely blocked, shutter gummed. Disassembly, disengagement, degumming, and it works honestly.
Successor of the KX/KM in a smaller body, I find it very well designed. Semi-automatic, mechanical shutter with textile curtain 1s to 1/1000s and pose "B", flash sync to 1/60s. "X" and "FP" sockets, depth-of-field tester (by pushing the self-timer lever), motorisable.
Optical display of the diaphragm and speed in the viewfinder, five diodes: two red for too much and not enough light , one green for OK, and two orange when you approach the good value.
Of course the body arrived without lens, the MV has lent its 2.0/50mm for the photo, as usual!
