Two Canon FTb with their standard 1.8/50mm lenses.

deux Canon FTb

Philippe is my brother in law (my sister's husband). In the 1980s, while I used my Zenits and my Spotmatic, he had bought a Canon FTb. And one day something broke in the cocking mechanism (in fact a pin, 5 minutes to replace) and the repairer to whom the body had been entrusted distorted everything (he disassembled the shutter and wrongly reassembled it ) and gave it back saying it was unrepairable. Philippe so bought another FTb, which he continued to use though I repaired the first one.

Canon FTb avec bague M42We even found an adapter ring (Canon original!) so he could use my M42 screwmount lenses.

The Sigma 35-135mm f:3.5-4.5 zoom in Canon FD mount. Bought in 1991.

Zoom Sigma 35-135 Canon FD

The Canon FD 1.8/50mm lenses have a big defect: the diaphragm is "lazy", and often it is not closed properly when the picture is taken. Result: over-exposed photos. So one day I found this Sigma zoom lens to replace the standard one and at last allow Philippe to take correctly exposed photos.
