Minolta Quickscan 35

Minolta Quickscan 35 film scanner. Given by a customer.

Quickscan 35When the Quickscan 35 came out, I worked at SACAP and we had one in demonstration. Unsaleable, as it was in our catalog for more than 10000F without vat, and for 8000F vat included on the market!
I found this one in the cellar of a photographer who was closing... it's cheaper.
This scanner, good quality, suffered from a very poorly written driver (for Windows 3.1 and never updated since) which made it virtually unusable. And one day I found VueScan, fantastic software, compatible with virtually all scanners from the very old. It's like having a new scanner, with very efficient automatic color corrections. Obviously, this scanner does not have anti dust like Digital Ice, but it's good.

Max resolution 2688x4032, about 10 Mpixels to speak like for a digital camera.

16mm film holder bought on eBay november 2nd 2010. 40$ +15$ shipping.

Minolta 16mm film holderI found this adapter by chance on eBay. So Minolta had planned the possibility to scan the images of its 16mm cameras!
At first, the images were incomplete. Until I opened the scanner and noticed that an improperly secured electric wire hindered the movement of the holder, longer than the 135 one!
