This camera arrived in a lamentable state, I had to use my talents as a restorer (see my personal pages -sorry, in French only)The 1.4 / 50 mm lens which came with it has a strong rating on the second hand market, especially in this SMC version.
Incomplete camera body, sold "for parts ".Thanks to a "matching donor"(SP500) purchased in May 2013, I could repair it: replacement of the galvanometer and of missing parts. The lens comes from another camera. On the Spotmatic first version light metering is "global", there's no flash shoe.
This one is equiped with the "Super Multi Coated" version of the 1.8/55mm lens.
The SP 1000 is a "simplified" version of the Spotmatic without flash shoe or timer. The 2.0/55mm lens is newer than the 1.8/55mm of the other cameras above. There also existed the SP500, on which position 1/1000s existed but was not marked on the dial.
The Spotmatic F measures the light at full aperture, thanks to an ingenious system for coupling with the lens. The SMC Takumar 1.8/55mm is the same generation as the 2.0/55mm of SP1000 above.
At the same time as the one above arrived two other SP-F, one, which upper cover is down, but with 1.4/50mm and 3.5/28mm lenses (moldy), and a wreck in which the shutter is torn.
