Lebreton Maurice (1915 - 1999) was mayor of "le Ménil-Brout" when my parents settled there in 1962 (Mom was appointed there as schoolmistress). He became a great friend of the family, saw the children and grandchildren grow up ...In the 1980s, when I started my career in photography, he offered me this Stylophot.
This camera uses 16mm film perforated on both sides. A claw advances the film from one cartridge to the other like for ISO-RAPID, while cocking the shutter. I did a test (with difficulty, I only found 16mm film perforated on one side). Considering the quality of the images, I would not rank it in the spy devices, but rather as a forerunner of 110 cameras.Brand: SECAM - Start of making: 1955.
