"Automat" decals

December 2009. Christophe has again bought an Automat, for it's unusual lens. The body is out of order, correct aspect, but the logo "Automat" is almost completely erased. After repair (contact bent under the mode selector), I decided to redo the logo.

I contacted a company which makes decals for scale models ( Interdecal ) and they've made the logo (75 € to 150 copies. Plus postage) from my drawings.

To ensure that my decal grips well, I had to degrease the support, so I removed the top cover to clean it with water and soap (remember it is important not to use alcohol)

Before - after. Placing the decal went very well (it's easier cover removed, and then no risk of bringing water into the unit). I have not tried to erase the old logo, it helps to position the decal perfectly.

And voila!

The "restored" Zenit in front of another in its original condition (the logo is scratched). The new logo is whiter, and writing a little more "fat".
