Replacing the mirror damping foam
I found on eBay a kit of foam for light seal and mirror stop. My provider (Pilgrim18) offers two kits: the starter kit with an assortment of foam of different thicknesses and densities, a mild solvent for traces of glue, special glue, small tools and instructions, and a completion kit simply composed of an assortment of foam.I replaced the damping foam of the mirror of my Ricoh KR-10 and Zenit AM N°93000001, and a piece of light-tight felt from the back of the 1995 AM2.
On the left, the original foam of AMs; in the center the AM with it's new foam, a regret, it is gray and not black, and thinner texture than the original. On the right the Ricoh KR-10, the color is not black, the texture is close to the original foam.
