Kiev Vega

Made between 1960 and 1962, the Vega is an exact copy of the Minolta 16 (I read on a website that most parts are interchangeable). On early models, was only reported 3.5/25 for the lens. On the followings, like this one, is written Industar 3.5/23. The manual indicates that the focusing is optimal at 5m, depth of field of the lens is sufficient for being in focus from 2m to infinity at full aperture. The 3 shutter speeds available are: 1/30s, 1/60s and 1/200s (the Minolta is 1/25s, 1/50s, 1/200s, it is the same if you consider the accuracy of this type of shutter).

Kit Kiev VegaArrived in its original box with:
-Its leather-pouch containing two filters (yellow and orange)
-2 empty magazines with their box.
-another magazine, from Minolta!
-3 boxes of black & white film, use before 1964. One of the 3 films is veiled, it was used to test the camera, the other 2 have not been unpacked.
-two adapters to fit the film in the carrier of a 135 enlarger.
Compared to the original configuration, miss the user's manual, and a reel to develop 16mm film in a "Made in USSR" developing tank.

For the Minolta, you could buy pre-loaded magazines and send them to development. By the Soviets are provided empty cassettes, you get explained how to load them, and is provided the reel to develop your own films. You can use either perforated or non-perforated film, advance is done by the coil, and the image (10x14mm) fits between the perforations.

Kiev VegaTo enable comparison, I took the same pictures of Minolta 16 and I have arranged them the same way.
