Here is an intervention out of my habits: a compact digital camera. My client uses this camera for the pictures of his site, but also if he "goes for a drive" in the Sahara. Sand got stuck to the back of the protective slats of the front lens, scratching this lens when opening-closing.
You can find on eBay for a very reasonable price new zoom lenses. My client has therefore ordered for one, the operation seemed tricky to him (he is used to a little bigger mechanics) and he entrusted it to me.
Surprise: the CCD is part of the new zoom, no risk of bringing dust during the operation and no alignment problem!
Disassembly is fairly simple, but there are many parts (here you don't see the screws!). To test, apart front and rear covers, you must each time reassemble everything.Bad surprise: the zoom we have received is defective and impossible to repair. As it has been three months between the order and my intervention, it is to late for a refund... Only remains to order for a new one (50 € and one week delay). This one works perfectly.
On the other hand, I had to hurry up for reassembly and reshipping, so no other pictures of the intervention...
