My customer has received a very nice Fed 5s, which works fine, except the lightmeter. He did not know how to disassemble it and entrusted it to me.Disassembly.
The needle of the galvanometer returns normally to the left thanks to a small spiral spring (too thin to be visible here). This spring is dead.
Curiously, the red paint whick would block the two screws is loosened and the screws move freely. This galvanometer is unrecoverable.
I found on ebay a lot of ten broken down Fed 5 for parts (mainly out of order rangefinders or shutter curtains).
I realized that there are two models of galvanometers, which assemble differently (different place for the holes in the hood). Luckily I bought a batch of ten! I could retrieve and reassemble a complete functioning meter.
