April 2016: Minolta Hi-Matic 7S

Everything works on this camera except the focus setting, inexplicably blocked. To reach the lens, I have to "undress" the body, and remove the plate on which it is fixed.

Before separating this plate, two pictures to identify the correct positioning of elements.

In fact, the arm that rises from the lens portion to the rangefinder disengages without having to unscrew anything. Very clever.

The helical is dry and as "stuck". Three drops of penetrating oil, waiting a few seconds, and it unlocks.

Obviously, I grease it thoroughly before reassembling.

I found that the foam around the eyepiece is much degraded; I clean ...

... and replace it with felt before replacing the top cover.
