This camera was entrusted to me by the same person as the Minolta Hi-Matic
First problem: The shutter cocking works, but the film does not advance. A little metal part was found inside. I'll also find later a small spring.
The top cover removed, the advance mechanism is hidden by the frame counter mechanism, which is held by three screws and can easily be removed in one piece. I love when it's well designed like this!
This hole on the cocking shaft is the one of the lacking screw holding the piece found in the camera. This piece is fixed from below, so i must remove the shaft.
Spotting before disassembly: a circlip to remove and a moving part to separate, a brass part to flatten (and will require twisting again when reassembling) and a screw to remove.
The shaft out.
Remained in the body, the gear which controls the driving of the film.
I found an adequate screw, set in place the wandering part and blocked the screw.
Replacing the spring and drive pinion, lubrication.
Test: it's perfect.
Second problem: when you put a battery in place, the meter needle gets stuck halfway of the display (between 4 and 5.6) and does not move whatever the incoming light.
The red button corresponds to the battery tester, but can not move.
The battery case apart: a battery has leaked inside, and fouled inaccessible parts; a (relatively!) thick layer of verdigris blocks the test button, and diverts the current to the test circuit instead of the light metering circuit.
The battery case reassembled and tested.
Problem: the blue wire is so oxidized that it is impossible to resolder, I must replace the entire length.
This wire is connected to the CdS cell in the front of the lens. But if it is pulled in one direction or the other, it does not come! I will have to disassemble...
I'll spare you the details of disassembling (complicated). Obviously, the wires are not likely to move.
The blue wire is replaced, the lens reassembled.
Seen on the other side.
Back on its plate.
Connecting the wires and replacing the plate.
Rebonding the leatherette.
Dressing.
Test: everything works.
And the small picture for posterity before returning to the sender!
