I found this Pentax KX for a pittance on leboncoin.fr.State of play:The rewind button lacks, the axle is twisted. The film speed selector is blocked (shock)The damping foam is disaggregated and stuck on the mirror,The displaying of the diaphragm is absent,The lightmeter does not work,The selftimer is broken,Shock at an angle of the back...I have ordered on eBay for a batch of Pentax parts from the USA, I hope there will be some useful parts for this body...
Some traces make me think that someone has already tried to disassemble this camera. The disassembled body awaits its parts...The selftimer works, its lever was badly reassembled, so no need to remove the trim and remove the front panel.
The shock at the angle of the back.
It's a set of two small mirrors that reflects the image of the diaphragm value in the viewfinder. By adjusting the leg that holds the up mirror, I recovered my image!
I straightened the back, some putty, touch up paint...
I replaced the mirror damping foam, but also this foam inside the top cover which wedges the small circuit board.
End of May: the parts ordered for on eBay will not arrive, I came across a dishonest.I resume the restoration with means at hand...The edge of the film speed selector breaks when you try to straighten it, and I have no other, never mind, it works. I straightened the rewind spindle and I put the (damaged) button from my K1000. It's not too ugly anyway.
The repair at the corner of the cover: not easy, sanding removes the chrome and the paint shows...
The body finished: it shows not too bad, and more everything works!
