September-october 2011.
We headed back to Christophe's. This time Thierry planned to help him revise the beautiful red 2CV he just bought (change brake pads and CV boots, repair rear lights...). I spent time locked alone in the caravan...
The stay will be shortened, because small problems at home. So we did not do much sightseeing. Fortunately, we had a nice ride on September 29, from the Cantal house, before continuing towards south.
The 2CV at the chapel St. Sixte in Eygalières (13):
We took the road to Aurillac, and at St Jacques des Blats we turned off towards Mandailles, then to the Puy Mary. Then we continued by Salers and Mauriac to the Correze (Servières-le-château) where Thierry had to go pay the caretaking of his caravan. On the return, after the Puy Mary, we went through the other side (Dienne) to join in Murat the road to St Flour.
Here, it's above St Jacques des Blats, a beautiful panorama, with parking and orientation table.
Behind me, the pointed mountain is the Puy Griou.
Somewhere behind me, there is the Plomb du Cantal.
The sun, a convertible with a blonde as a passenger. Isn't it a wonderful life?
And now, behind me is the Puy Mary. We took the picture on the way back, at the outward journey the parking was full (and the restaurant too!). A Thursday in late September! Thierry could not believe it!
Thierry and the Puy Mary, it's an old story. It's one of his favorite places to ride when he is in the area. Here, it is in summer 1979, he went there by moped and made the souvenir photo!
The crossroads was reconstructed in recent years (you can see a little on the photo above that the wall is different). The gift shop has disappeared.
