Strip off!
Cleaning of foam residues, Touch up paint.
Cleaning (scouring!) with Miror the cover parts, cleaning foam residues sticked on the back edges.Attempt of dent removal of the cover at the level of pentaprism, not terrible ...
Cleaning of small items, and a few small touches of black paint.
New foams have arrived, reassembly can begin.Sticking of the mirror damping foam, and of the light-tight foam of the front block.
Setting up the light-tight foam of the back. This foam is a little thicker than the slot, to force. Not obvious.
Reassembly of the back and baseplate.
Replacing the mirror and automatic diaphragm mechanism. Small copper washers are used as shims for the front. Marked during disassembly, they are held in place by a drop of grease to prevent them from moving while repositioning.
Reassembly of the front and the top cover. It begins to look like a camera!
Some tests, then end of reassemblyUnlike to the body, the SMC Takumar was in very good condition and did not need operation.
